Need a cookie?

I had a chance to play along with some challenges over on StampTV this weekend. Gina K and her crew offered up some fun challenges to go with the release of Gina's newest stamps. It was a great excuse to pull out some of my Gina K stamps and put them to work! This card was for Emily's challenge to make a card featuring pink in honor of breast cancer awareness. I decided to pull out Have a Cookie, which was designed by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K, and paired it with some fun papers from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker collection. The cookie dough was colored with Copics and my embellishment was a simple bit of ribbon with a button and some linen thread. The inside of the card reads: Need a cookie?
Supplies:
Stamps: Have a cookie - Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Copic markers
Cardstock: bazzill, choice vanilla, October Afternoon Modern Homemaker
Accessories: ribbon, button, linen thread

Grungy Rose

I made this card for a StampTV challenge to make something that is not your usual style. This is definitely not my typical CAS! I received a bunch of grunge paper recently as a gift and had not used it, so I pulled it out and inked, painted, misted, glittered and distressed a few pieces. The rose is a grunge circle that I cut to make my own version of a rolled rose. More distressing and inking on the copper background piece and on the sentiment. My fingers were so inky when I was done, and I'm not sure how well I channeled Tim Holtz, but overall, I'm pleased with how this one turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: Charmed Life by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs
Ink: gingerbread chalk ink, distress inks
Paper: misc brown, copper and cream from my stash, grunge paper
Accessories: distressing tool, sponges, smooch spritz, stickles, paint

Little black dress

A few days ago, Gina K Designs had its July release party over on StampTV. Along with the party, there were a few challenges and contests you could play in for chances to win stamp sets. My pal Lee issued a color challenge for the event. She made it a tough one -black and white! Of course I had to use Gina K stamps on my card, so I pulled out my favorite set, Retro Boutique. I paper-pieced the dress using Amuse Shimmer Couture black damask cardstock. The black is also Shimmer Couture - it is so pretty and shimmery in real life. I finished the card with some ribbon and some bling, because Lee loves her bling! I love how elegant the finished card looks. And guess what? I won the challenge! Woohoo! I have new stamp set all picked out - I can't wait til it gets here so I can start playing some more! Thanks Gina and Co.!
Supplies:
Stamps: Retro boutique by Rupa Shevde for Gina K Designs
Ink: Memento tuxedo black
Paper: Neenah white, Amuse shimmer couture black and black damask
Accessories: Nestabilities, rhinestones and pearls, ribbon

Scrapping with StampTV

I have so many wonderful pictures that need scrapping, but I hardly ever take a break from cardmaking to actually get the pictures out. I was determined to get some done, though, when I got these pictures of Memorial Day back. Then I saw Erika's sketch for the weekly scrapbook challenge on StampTV and knew I could pair them up! I apologize for the photo - I find it very hard to photograph 12x12 pages! You can click the photo to see a larger version!
I modified the sketch a bit for the larger paper and to incorporate more pictures. Since the photos are of my best friend's little boy, I didn't want to add flowers, so I made circles using some Creative Memories punches instead. I also stamped some words from various Gina K Designs sets in a couple of the circles. The title is also from Gina K, from Melanie's set "The Best things in Life." Below it I added my own journaling.
Supplies:
Stamps: Gina K Designs
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Memento tuxedo black
Paper: My Mind's Eye, kiwi kiss, tangerine tango, taken with teal, cool caribbean, whisper white
Accessories: Circle punches, spica clear glitter pen (on BEST in the title)

StampTV sketch

I've been having fun playing on Gina K's new StampTV site the last few days. There are some great video tutorials, challenges and more over there. She also has groups based on geography, so I had to join California Connection!
Anyway, I'm trying to get ahead with my stamping, so I've been working on birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. I used this week's Stamp TV sketch and paired it with my favorite Gina K set, Retro Boutique. The sketch was perfect for this long, narrow image. I stamped the image in Memento rich cocoa and colored the bags with Copics. I used the blender pen to add some texture on the brown ones. I also used some more of that lovely polka dot paper from American Crafts, some luxurious chocolate satin ribbon and some chocolate Kaisercraft pearls to finish the card off.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!
