Elvis in the snow

There are a few people on my Christmas card list who are Elvis fans, so I needed a couple more cards using this fabulous stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I love blue snow cards, and since Elvis sang "Blue Christmas," this seemed like the perfect color combination! I cuttle-bugged the top half of the white piece and added some felt snowflakes from Hero Arts for some additional texture. I can't believe Christmas is just two weeks away!!! I don't know about all of you, but I'm not ready!
Supplies:
Stamps: CHF Elvis, sentiment from Paper Salon
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Night of navy, bashful blue, neenah classic crest white
Accessories: cuttlebug, hero arts felt snowflakes, snowflake brad

Caribbean Christmas

I'm still sharing Christmas projects, since I've only managed to make one card since I got back from my holiday trip! But I plan to be stamping tomorrow and New Year's in hopes of getting back in the groove. The connection between these two projects is the dominant Caribbean blue color in both! The first is a CD case - I picked it up on clearance at Kohl's for like $2 - that I gave to my niece Alison (or Ali for short!). It had a slot for a photo, so I stamped her name in some spectrum-style ink in shades of blue on shimmery white paper, punched it out with my SU scallop punch and adhered it to some turquoise and Caribbean paper. I added a pair of Primas and a shimmery white Making Memories brad. I added an I-tunes gift card and she was thrilled!
This card was inspired by the Tiffany jewelry advertisements that were running on the LA Times Web site before the holidays. They had white snowflakes on the signature blue background, with the Tiffany name in black. I started with a white card base, a narrow black layer, then the cool Caribbean main image. I stamped the snowflakes from SU's retired Lace Snowflakes set in white craft ink and embossed them with white EP. The sentiment is from a Paper Salon tailored tin and is stamped in black Stazon. I finished the card with some white organdy ribbon.

Inspired wrappings

I am basically done with the Christmas cards! I cranked out ten last night (I'll share those later) and did this one tonight. I might need one or two extras later, but I think I am finished for now! Woohoo! I think I made 52 cards in all this year, which might be a record!
This card was made for this week's Inspiration Challenge on SCS. The inspiration piece was wrapping paper with mittens on it; I don't have any mitten stamps, so I substituted the snowflakes from Snowflurries. I used blue bayou, soft sky and real red inks and paper, and some white craft on the blue bayou piece along the left. I used a shimmer outerwear notecard from Paper Salon - they are super shimmery, and hard to photograph! They come pre-scalloped (is that a word? It's late and it's Friday after a long week!) Anyway, I won a set of eight of these notecards, which come with red envelopes, and a Tailored Tin of Christmas stamps called Season's Greetings, in Paper Salon's World Cardmaking Day contest. The sentiment, stamped in real red and embossed with clear EP, is from the set. This is the first chance I've had to pull them out since I received them several weeks ago. I added some red organdy ribbon and some metallic blue snowflake brads to finish the card off. I'm really happy with how this one turned out!

Dazzling tag

I decided to give the Paper Salon World Cardmaking Day challenge one more shot by making a tag using the tag sketch they posted. I really like how this turned out. I started with a bravo burgundy base, I think it measures 3 by 4.5 inches. I cut the corners off one end to make the top, then added a layer of Paper Salon Dazzle collection blizzard paper along the top, using my Fiskars cutter to make a scallop edge. The middle cardstock is PS Dazzle candy strip. I stamped most of the mistletoe image from SU's Peaceful Wishes set in bravo burgundy on the striped cardstock, then using my stamp positioner to line the images up, stamped the bottom piece of the image in white craft ink on the burgundy paper. I attached the wide moss organdy ribbon under the snowflake layer, then tied it in sections using my SU silver cord. I added an eyelet and another piece of the moss ribbon at the top, again tied with the silver cord. I think I will add a TO/From stamp on the snowflake layer at a later time.

Dazzling Christmas

I just happened to have a couple of pristine, uncut sheets of this yummy Paper Salon paper from the Dazzle collection, and Paper Salon happens to be hosting a World Cardmaking Day challenge, which you can find here. The papers are blizzard and candy stripe. The challenge is to make a shaped holidaycard or tag or to use one of two sketches from PageMaps. I chose this card layout from PageMaps because it would work wonderfully with this tag punch starburst that my friend Joni encouraged me to try. For directions on making the starburst, which is made with the two tag punches from SU, visit this thread on SCS. Here are the rest of the details: mellow moss card base, Paper Salon designer papers layered with bravo burgundy cardstock; starburst uses sparkly turquoise CS from unknown source (possibly Paper Zone) and pale pink The tiny snowflakes are punched from bravo burgundy and rose romance cardstock using some EK Success snowflake punches I have. The sentiment is from MSE and inked in mellow moss and bravo burgundy. I used the word window punch to round the edges of it. The snowflake brads are from my stash, not sure who made them.
Hope you're all having a great World Cardmaking Day. I am planning to work on some other cards and challenges later, but I need to do some chores around the house, too!
