Hi everybody! I'm so excited to be playing along in this month's Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past blog hop. Hopefully you started with Taylor's blog, and came to here from Charmaine's blog!
The theme for February's hop is "Going Green," so Taylor asked us to use either the color green or use a recycled element on our cards. I had an idea for a recycled element, but just couldn't make it work, so this card is all about the green. I never have enough masculine cards in my stash, so I thought I would take this opportunity to make a masculine card using the "You're My Hero" stamp set. Most of the supplies on the card are from the Rock Star key ingredients collection that was available when this stamp set first came out. I colored and cut out the guitar, then added some Ranger glossy effects for shine, like an electric guitar would. The stars were punched out of acrylic, then inked with alcohol inks. I backed them with white so the color would show. I also touched a bit of the alcohol ink to the sentiment panel for a touch of distress.
It was nice to finally get inky again after a bit of a break. I plan a full weekend of stamping this weekend, since it's Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast. I'm hosting a challenge Friday night; I hope you'll join me! Find out all the details HERE. It's always a ton of un.
