I discovered a new challenge blog this weekend thanks to Allison of Stampin When I Can. She posted a link to a sketch from Stamping 411 and I knew it would be perfect for me! I've made about two dozen holiday cards featuring this Elvis image. I'll be sharing other versions later, but this version was inspired by Sketch 128 from Stamping 411. I'm trying to keep the holiday cards simple this year since I still have so many to make! Last year my cards had so many layers, I'm trying to cut back this year.
Elvis is from Cornish Heritage Farms. The sentiment is from Stampendous. The button is from a bag I picked up at my LSS. The story is going out of business, unfortunately, but as a result, I got a deal on the buttons. I bought an assorted bag of navy, one of medium blue and one of vanilla. They are great assortments of sizes and shapes. I used neenah white paper for the base because it's a heavy weight, but I used Stampin UP's whisper white for the image because of the smooth finish - images like these with lots of ink and detail seem to come out better on this paper.
Thanks, as always, for looking!
